Boost Performance with Intel AVX-512 and Java

Intel contributes significantly to the software community, including both software and hardware optimizations for Java. Applications that run on Intel platforms with the latest Java release can take advantage of Intel Advanced Vector Extensions 512 (Intel AVX-512), the latest x86 vector instruction set.

This session provides an overview of Intel AVX-512, examples of performance benefits using Java, and how Intel and Dremio are collaborating to deliver improved performance on the most computationally demanding workloads.

Ginger Gilsdorf is a software engineer at Intel, focusing on enabling database and analytics software vendors to run best on Intel Data Center platforms. Her experience with persistent memory includes investigating possible use cases, developing software that takes advantage of persistence, and optimizing for performance. She holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Arizona State University, and is working on an M.S. in Computer Science with a specialty in Machine Learning from Georgia Tech. She holds two U.S. patents in memory and storage technologies.
