Customers can purchase and deploy Dremio, the open data lakehouse, as a managed service on AWS directly in AWS Marketplace.
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- August 4, 2022 -- Building on its work with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Dremio announced today that Dremio Cloud, the open data lakehouse platform delivered as a managed service, is now available to purchase in AWS Marketplace.
Dremio, the easy and open lakehouse, gives data teams the data management and data governance capabilities typically associated with a data warehouse directly on data lake storage. Dremio Cloud simplifies access to the newest and fastest-growing sources of customer and operational data, and provides technical and non-technical consumers the power to explore data and create interactive dashboards with full American National Standards Institute (ANSI) structured query language (SQL) functionality. Users can use their own AWS account to access these Dremio Cloud capabilities, which are delivered as a managed service, eliminating the need for data teams to manage their own infrastructure.
Dremio Cloud, being available to purchase in AWS Marketplace, provides businesses with the freedom and flexibility to use their preferred procurement vehicle to adopt the open lakehouse platform. End users can purchase and launch Dremio Cloud using a preconfigured template. Data teams can spin up Dremio Cloud in a matter of seconds and start exploring their data in Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3).
“Amazon S3 represents the first and primary destination for a growing volume and variety of data,” Roger Frey, Vice President, Technology Alliances at Dremio, said in a statement. “With proprietary analytic platforms, the time to value for that data is extended by the complexities required to make it widely available for analytics. Data consumers need easy, direct access to the data lake to satisfy a multitude of analytic use cases.”
“Many customers are already using Dremio on AWS to simplify data access and accelerate time to value for their data,” continued Frey. “With Dremio Cloud in AWS Marketplace, we’re extending the flexibility and freedom of our open lakehouse platform to the procurement process, and we’re making it easier and faster than ever to get started with an open lakehouse platform. Dremio Cloud should delight our mutual customers.”
Garvis, a SaaS company using AI to make forecasting and demand planning easy and accessible, adopted Dremio Cloud on AWS to build a modern data stack that enabled them to scale quickly and support their customers. “Dremio Cloud is a great solution for us as it lets us focus on our core expertise, while getting access to the latest Dremio features without any administration or IT operations management on our side,” said Geert-Jan Van Den Bogaerde, CTO at Garvis. “We were up and running in 30 minutes and had migrated our existing Preset dashboards over to Dremio Cloud soon after. We are confident that this is a solution that scales along with our organization as we grow quickly, in terms of engine scalability, data lineage and governance, and enterprise-grade security.”
“As Digital Transformation continues to play a critical role in business growth, we see a growing need for business intelligence and reporting capabilities on data,” said Mona Chadha, Director of Category Management at AWS. “We’re excited that many of our customers who transact in AWS Marketplace can easily purchase and deploy Dremio Cloud, and start exploring their data in minutes to make important business decisions.”
