James Reid
James Reid is the Managing Director and Head of Engineering and Architecture for Corporate Technology (CT) at JP Morgan Chase & Company (JPMC). CT ’s mission is to provide technology consulting services to help influence, design, and implement technology strategies and solutions that facilitate the modernization of CT’s application portfolio, solve key challenges, mitigate risks, and add business value to the organization and the broader JPMC firm. He is at the forefront of transitioning JPMC to the cloud.
James is an innovative and results-oriented technology leader, bringing more than 25 years’ experience in software design, development, and integration. He has expertise in all aspects of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, and functional and systems integration testing. He specializes in leading high-performing and multidisciplinary teams from product development to successful product launches. He has a proven track record of patents and commercialization of new products and solutions. Throughout his career, he has led agile transformations, establishing lean practices that deliver positive business outcomes, coining the phrase “Business Agility – it’s not about agile, it’s about business agility.”
James previously served as Senior Vice President of Core Software Engineering at Equifax where he led a global team of 500+ software engineers, business analysts, technical writers, and other staff. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Rutgers University in New Jersey and an MBA in global business from Georgia Institute of Technology. In addition, he obtained his certification as an AWS Solutions Architect – Associate. He considers himself a technology leader who seeks to bridge the gap between the business and technology l to deliver expected business outcomes.
