Santa Clara, Calif., – August 13, 2019 - Dremio, the data lake engine company, announced today that Billy Bosworth, CEO of DataStax, has joined the company’s Board of Directors.
Billy served as a member of the board of directors of Tableau for the last four years, leading up to that company’s $15.7B acquisition by Salesforce. He is currently the CEO of DataStax, a privately held data management company based on open-source Apache CassandraTM, a position he has held since May of 2011. Under his leadership, DataStax has grown from a Silicon Valley startup to over $100M in annual revenue.

Prior to his role at DataStax, Billy was GM of Quest Software’s Database Division, a leader in database management software. Under his leadership the Quest database business grew from supporting traditional relational databases to a portfolio that included tools for cloud, NoSQL, columnar, and Hadoop databases, as well as business intelligence offerings.
