Data Product Journey of Regeneron

The frontier of drug discovery relies on data—and coordinating fundamentally diverse data across different therapeutic areas has become today’s challenge. At Regeneron, we saw a growing need to “connect the dots” and enable cross-domain analytics and collaboration across data silos from different therapeutic areas like, Ophthalmology, immunology, and oncology. To meet the challenge, we organized our teams and our approach around the concept of Data as a Product.

Regeneron’s data architecture combines traditional Data Mesh and Data Fabric approaches while adding an enterprise-wide metadata-capturing layer and a data domain classification. This establishes the foundation of our Data Gateway: a centralized bridge to access and explore data across all business domains.

In this session, we’ll discuss the Data as a Product approach, how it fit into Regeneron’s business needs, and how it can be applied in the context of heightened data availability and security requirements.
